Roanoke Island Festival Park

Before heading out onto the island, the students were told the rules....and what happens if they don't follow them:

Our first stop at the island was the Settlement site where we learned the trade of a carpenter and how different classes of settlers lived on the site:

A brave K-night

Woodworking 101

Tina learns how to create a chair leg

The two-man cross cut.

Afterward, we had a scavenger hunt throughout the Adventure Museum:

Students enjoyed the "dance circle" in the American Indian Town!

....and learned how to thatch houses.

Lastly was the Elizabeth II 16th century ship where we learned what life was like as a sailor:

Huzzah!!!

Stomp your foot!
